Sector Conquest Launch (Solo & Wing Attack/Defense)

Big changes are coming up! Stay tuned: https://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?showtopic=29583&identity_sid=t0uacqalbthssf5o9d402cu1p2

Solo Launch:

There is a way to play Sector Conquest (a.k.a. SQ, Dreadnought Battle) solo without being in a wing or being a member of a corporation. Playing SQ solo ensures players a maximum 20 minute long battle full of action in a random team with a random dreadnought.

Why to do it?

Because it is very different from other game modes, the visual experience is epic, and it gives a good opportunity to practice for later fights in corporate wings. For those who have a corporation and a dreadnought already it is a good way to play when there is no enough player around for a wing or to try out dreadnoughts form other factions as well. Also, in case of a victory, 15 000 voucher reward is delivered to you in your mail. Don't forget to accept it!

How to do it?

Currently, attackable sectors are divided to two levels: level 3 (rank 7-9) and level 4 (rank 10-12). In order to launch a SQ solo, players have to have at least three rank 7-9 (or rank 10-12) ships in their ship slots and no ships from any other ranks.

When to do it?

There are several distinct times for SQ battles each day. To see the times for these battles one has to open the Galaxy Map then switch to Corporation Battles Map with the little dreadnought icon in the bottom right corner of the map window. The times displayed above the sectors mean the players' local time and when the registrations begin for SQ. Registrations take about 10 minutes. The fist section after opening is the attackers' registration (attacker from corporations with wings) and it takes for 4 minutes. The second section is the defenders' registration (wings of the attacked sectors' owners) that is also 4 minute long. Only after these opens up a short opportunity to register solo for SQ. This time window is about one minute long and the number of places available is limited. So be prepared, and when the time has come (in the 8th minute of the registration) be quick and launch into battle.

Where to launch it?

Solo SQ players can use the Conquest button that is located in the main Launch window along with other game modes like PvP or PvE. When the button becomes highlighted solo registrations begin. On the button the available free places are also displayed separate for each, level 3 and level 4.

Note:

SQ has multiple rounds depending on the numbers of attackers and defenders, the defense points of the attacked sectors, and the outcomes of the battles. Therefore, there might be a second time when solo players can start a SQ battle. This 2nd registration session opens after the first round is over (about 30 minutes after the first registration started). The process is the same as for the first round: 4 minute attacker registration (this time only those wings that registered to the first round and won), 4 minutes for defenders, and then 1 minute for solo players. Registering with the same random team from the first round together is not possible. A new random selection is being made.

Capturing a sector is not possible through solo launching.

Wing Attack/Defense

Launching SQ with a wing is slightly different than of those doing it solo. There are two ways of doing SQ in wings organized by players: by attacking or defending a sector.

Why to do it?

Because it is fun especially when wings can prepare in advance with ship roles and set up TeamSpeak for better coordination. Also, the reward for players in wings is higher, 20 000 vouchers.

How to do it?

Attacker wings: Corporations that want to attack a sector have a 45 minute long session for announcing their attacks. This opportunity opens exactly one hour before the already mentioned 10 minute attacker/defender/solo player registration begins. During the 45 minute period corporations can announce or recall attacks in a limited number for a certain amount of corporate iridium (its cost is displayed on the map). The maximum number of announcements for one corporation is 4. Announcements can only be made by the CEO and/or VPs of a corporation. Recalling attacks is not possible after the announcement session is over. The announcements end 15 minute before the actual wing registrations giving enough time for defenders and attackers to organize their teams.

Forming a wing and registering it for attack can be made by a CEO, a VP, or an officer. Attacker wings can contain members only from the same attacking corporation. Inviting others from outside of the corporation is not allowed for attackers. An attacking wing has to have a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 players. Incomplete attacker wings might get AI (bot) members in case of uneven opposing teams.

Defender wings: The owners of the defending sectors don't have to do anything during the announcement session. They can monitor the numbers of announcements in their sectors so wing assembling can start early. Defender wings can be formed and registered by a CEO, VP, or an officer. The leader of a defender wing can invite players from outside of their corporation. A defending wing has to have a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 players. Incomplete defender wings might get AI (bot) members in case of uneven opposing teams. The maximum number of defender wings for one corporation is 4.

When to do it?

After announcements were being made, attackers can register their wings during the first 4 minutes of the registration session that opens at the time shown above the sectors. Defenders can register their wings during the second 4 minute period of the registration session.

Where to launch it?

Attack announcements can be made on the 'Galaxy Map' by right clicking on a sector then on the 'Announce attack' text in the pop-up window. Both, attackers and defenders can sign up their wings in the 'Galaxy Map' by left clicking on the sector and then sign up where it becomes available.

Recruits are new players with ships lower than rank 4. It is basically a little support to newbies. There are a few achievements connecting to the recruiting system that is supposed to encourage vets to help new players.

Not only this. If your recruits give you "like" after a match, you get half of recruit's earned synergy as free synergy. This is abysmal amount, but still something.

I think that's the first "moved to appropriate section" in the last year. Will we see some topic merges soon also? :O
