Stop insane wait times

Dying and being stuck behind a screen for 30 seconds in a battle with 25 seconds left is the worst feeling ever lemme tell you. Someone should fix this.

Do you mean a respawn time? Penalty for death is necessary, I think it's obvious. And this is a common practice for many games.

Yes but I mean strictly for the ends of battles. Some wait times are so long that you don't get to participate before the match ends.

Maybe player should try do not die at the end of a battle? :-) But you are partially right, that's why we increased the duration of Team Battle.

I don't love how dying once can leave you with a 15 second (or even 30 second) respawn time. It's already a time consumer to get back into battle once you spawn, but combine that with things like withholding spawn (beacon hunt) and the already high wait times and quite often that single death can swing a game.

 

If respawns were 5 seconds for the first and increased by 5 (stacking) with each death up to a max of 30 seconds, this would make sense. But sometimes the spawn holding seems entirely arbitrary. Sometimes I respawn in 7 seconds, sometimes 25. This is particularly gruesome if I'm expected to carry my team, so while I'm dead somewhere between two and five players provide themselves as free kills to the enemy team...

I don't really like it when I just have to wait 30 seconds at the end of the battle watching my team icons getting vanished from top down view. I want to get there and vanish with them not watch them vanish without me.

Increasing the duration of team battle only kinda fixed this issue. But this issue stretches beyond team battle. In every gamemode, spawn times are too long. Spending 30 seconds staring at a screen waiting to spawn in (or sometimes longer in Beacon Hunt) is boring. Like Nuke said, spawn times sometimes seem random. I've had games where my spawn time on the first death was 15 seconds, the second death was 10, then the third was 30. Makes no sense to me...

 

With the all-around decrease to battle times, spawn times need to be reduced to correlate with that.

 

+1 to Nuke's suggested spawn times w/ increases.

Honestly, there needs to be a hard cap to spawn times. Worst I've ever seen was when dreads had first come out and I believe ANGER started spawncamping us just five minutes into the match. By the end, I had a 60 second spawn timer.

 

Obviously this needs to be fixed. +1

Beacon hunt can lead to some very long waits. Between that and the small matches + midmatch join, you barely get to play :/

 

I love that MM finds games faster than ever now... but this is a problem. Would be nice to either have longer matches or shorter spawn timers

Ok, guys, I understand that you want to play instead of sitting, especially in the context of join-in-progress thing and the current duration of matches (let me speak about this with our special people). 

But still, this thing should work as a limit which tells you do not run into battle like a lamp-lighter. Or as a motivation to play cautiously.

True, buy I think this may be mostly related (as others stated) to beacon hunt. This may even be a bug. This seems to happen mostly between the 2nd and 3rd beacon and on the first death.

What happens:

1. You die shortly after capturing the second beacon , shortly after it activates (10-15 seconds)

This is your first death

2. You then have to wait for the 25-35 seconds for the C beacon to activate before getting a 20-25 second spawn timer. This is the first and only death mind you.

 

Conversely, if you do something stupid, bad luck, thud, and die in say first 30-60 seconds of the game at the A beacon, you can re-spawn in 10 seconds. Or the same if you die on the third beacon.

As you said the goal was to limit the feeders and make people play a little more cautiously and I think I read somewhere a year or so ago that the spawn timer was just supposed to increase with

each death (or maybe that was just an idea someone had) i.e 10 seconds first death, 15 seconds second death, 20 seconds third. Something like that?

Pretty sure dying is such an integral part of the game that this is an atrocious justification for anything ever. Especially in games where you're the only competent player and forced to carry upwards of 5 others (or more!). You really think you won't ever die in those games?

I'd say some sort of tweak is needed, I'd wish for longer matches since the consequences for dying is kinda devastating, especially in shorter games. Yes of course you could also say "die less then" well, there is also this problem what if there is just some few pilots really going for objectives, while others sit in spawn and wont move (or solo rushes in and die instantly vs enemy team), or wont contribute to the team - at all. THAT is kinda frustrating, and being one of those lone pilots going for objectives vs enemies that stays together well.... game is already decided then, and you can try all you want but you will have the disadvantages from the start.
