So about that nerf to farming in invasion...

Recommended Posts

All the mysterious containers in the frontier seem to have been moved towards pirate patrols, and loot chances seem to have been rebalanced so that less valuable things are much, much more common.

Pre-nerf average rate of farming: 1 million credits every 5 minutes

Post-nerf average rate of farming: 1 million credits every 30 minutes

Now, I'm entirely certain it's a thing that happened, since being off by a factor of six after 30 minutes of farming would be really, really unlikely. But I'm not certain that it's happened in every sector.

Anyways. Anyone else noticed it, yet? Or am I crazy?

i used to pick light cells regularly, i've noticed an income drop too. The mysterious containers seem to yield resources for me more than anything. can't complain - i need resources for octopus.

All I've gotten from them for the past few days is CPU, cheap pirate BPs, and Processing blocks/Screened batteries. I haven't gotten an actual blueprint or ship part or mega-cred item in forever.

Noticed that too. Lotsa 300k, 100k and processing blocks lately, sometimes light cell or pirate shield booster. I think also that they added new spawn locations, so containers rotate. Btw, there is one in unknown space.

Definitely noticed this. I keep getting pirate shield booster blueprints, crappy 85k drops, and lots of processing blocks/screened batteries. I wish there was a mechanic like a toggle switch for blueprints you've already found. If you turn it on, blueprints you have already found will never be dropped, but the blueprints you don't have still have the same chance of dropping. This would give you more credit/voucher drops, but when you find a blueprint, it's one you actually want. Oh right, the devs are against anything related to making the grind easier.

In general I have to agree. Although, I've been hardcore farming yesterday and I picked up 2 light cells within 5 minutes in Scrapyard. Actually 5 or 6 all together but from different sectors. Other than this, I keep getting lots of computer chips, fuel, 5/8/10/50K credit, and can't find many hidden/mysterious/alien containers that I know about. Now it takes about 20-30 minutes to collect 1M credit instead of 10-15.

I had to confirm. Light cells and T5 blueprints have been nerfed! No more T5 mark V weapon variants. I used to get at least 1-2 per 1-2 days, now I get 1 in 1 week.

Artifacts are very rare now. Even more rare, than light cells. I am talking about 150 artifacts - neural transmitter. Alien stash is a joke - you might get pirate loot, vouchers and artifacts or a blueprint in 1% of those.

Loot altogether is more crappy and I get a lot more of 100 credits from ore, than I used to. Ore should always give ore, cyrstals as well. There is no need for credit junk or credit alone.

Developers sure like to troll and do the opposite of what they are being told to do. Time to leave invasion for good. Only good for monocrystal farming - 9 per day, then get the hell out of there.

My thoughts exactly. Even though I still have a couple blueprints I haven't found that i want (Ion Emitters and RF blasters) I'm not going to waste any more time looking for them. I could farm mysterious containers in invasion for 3 hours and not come up with one of the blueprints I want, and only end up gaining about 6 mil and (if I'm lucky) 100 artifacts in those 3 hours.

The devs need to learn that doing everything they can to make the grind harder for pilots in this game isn't going to help them, if anything, it is going to cause even more players to quit the game, which, if it happens too severely, the game will die out. I for one don't want to see this game go away, as I enjoy playing it, and I have sunk several hundred dollars into it, and I would hate to see that go to waste.

Might as well post a relevant question i have in here.

Seeing the Spatial Scanner is on sale right now, is it worth it to buy the Spatial Scanner even with the nerfs that Invasion has received or is it pretty much useless now even with the 50% discount? Things i'm looking for to find more of are the 12 rare trophies that gives you a achievement for finding them all, blueprints and just in general high value loot/iridium.

If i buy it, it's pretty much gonna deplete the last of my GS that i have and it probably will be the last GS that i'll spend on the game so i want to make a informative decision before i buy it.

You can still get blueprints easier using one. As for trophies, I'm really not sure.

If you want a good way to get credit income, spatial scanner is not the purchase for you.

If you want to spend approximately four or five hours to get a decent chance of finding one(1) blueprint, then it is the purchase you want!

Considering how RNGsus hates me, try spending 20+ hours to get a bp. 'Cause that's what's happening to me :(

And here I was thinking I was the only one who uses the term RNGsus (in this game).

Next time you are in open space, just complain out loud about how RNGsus hates you and how RNG sucks, and suddenly RNGsus will love you and give you nice things. (at least it works for me in War Thunder, and it works for PhlyDaily in World of Warships)

Hmmm, from all the replies it sounds that even at 3k GS it's not really worth the purchase, maybe if it ever goes 75% discount i'll pick it up.

Thanks for the replies people. :)

Searching and finding the blueprint you want, let it be "Singularity Projector T5 Blueprint for example" will take you even with spatial scanner several days in average. Finding T5 blueprints is almost impossible and has a chance of 1/15 (from what i get), then finding the thing you want is even less certain.

Invasion is almost not worth playing anymore, loot has been nerfed to the ground.Blueprints are really really rare except aiming overcarge and pirate modules.Hunters in Alien Sectors drop loot from 5k to 40k considering the time it takes to kill 3 of tham together it's just a waste of time.Even pirates drop better loot than any aliens in normal sectors (even in middle sectors and pvp ones).Farming without S.Scanner is about 1-2 million credits per 2 hours, with the scanner it's a bit faster because of Light cells.

People rarely play/farm in invasion anymore because of this 99% of the people you see there are eighter flying from to Stations to change contracts or just to do the 3 daily missions every day.

Reversing Open World to the way it was before would make it better and worth playing,(tresure hunters don't need to drop that much credits and artifacts tho).I doubt that this will ever happen.

+1

Worthless for anything else, than daily monocrystal grind!

I still try to farm some invasion now and again, in hopes of being able to find a blueprint I need. Still need mk5 shield generator and positrons, myself. I'm missing a number of other blueprints, but those are really the ones I want most.

I searched 6 months to get one (Positron Cannon) and that was before the Invasion nerf. At the end some random gave it to me, because I got very lucky.

Your chances are extremely low, especially now. Chances of getting a blueprint with T V mark 5 designation are really rare.

It may help finding the 12 trophies as it points you towards all loot stashes, but this all boils down to RNGsus, same for blueprints and high value loot. It won't help you find iridium, just kill stuff in open space to get this.

I do find it useful for making credits, but that is dependant on how many people are in open space farming crates, if there are a lot out there then it will take longer to find crates as you will be waiting for them to respawn.

As it is, the credit income is comparable to what you get for playing a little PvP.

Just killing transports outside of stations can reward decent iridium and part rewards, but cash and BPs are best found in high-level sectors.

If only you could do that without tanking your karma beyond repair.

The 12 items needed for the achievement can also drop from regular "Blackwood Corporation" Containers plus any other source found around the sectors. Unfortunately however the value of the loot you are after was also nerfed beyond compare as a Tech insignia alone used to be worth I think it as around 100-150k (needs checking), it is now worth 40k credits. Barely enough to repair your ship.

Might I also add that the mysterious containers can drop loot with pre-nerf values so the spacial scanner can be used to *slightly* quicken the grind for new gear and ships.
