Let me fly alone!

Recommended Posts

I wanted to explore some possibilities on some maps, and i had to realize that you can't create a custom game for flying alone. You either have to waste other people's time by asking them to join your game and do nothing towards winning it or you have to put in bots which are... well, they are pesky, they attack you and they will capture beacons and so on.

So if there are no rewards for custom PvP, why can't i fly in there totally alone?

Three possibilities:

  • Detonation bot match, the bots will ignore the bomb so it will run the full time (unless they changed the bots now that they've become mainstream)
  • Ask anyone to join, you launch and they can leave right away. The battle will run full time as long as at least one player remains in the session (their ships stay around but they will be able to use them in other battles without having to wait for them).
  • Make a second account and play with yourself. ;)

its not allowed to make a second account.

you should not even suggest that since its not legal in this game.

You are allowed to have more than 1 account, but you can't have them at the same time in game or use one of them to farm the other one and viceversa.

The topic is unregulated custom battles which grant no rewards, the multi-client topic isn't even relevant there. Personally I have two accounts because I sometimes want to test certain game mechanics in a custom battle after a patch.

Besides, the EULA does actually allow simultaneous operation of different (language) versions of the client under certain conditions.

Speaking of multiple accounts on at the same time.. can they tell the difference between 2 accounts being played by friends/siblings/cousins in the same house, or not?

I'd find that rule to be somewhat of a nuisance, else wise.

I've played with my brother and we live in the same house, we had no problems.

There is no automatic detection, so unless somebody reports you or you used to excessively farm ratings in customs when it was still possible nobody will ever look into it. But given the place we are discussing this I have to encourage you to read the license you agreed to carefully and to abide by it. :)

I just tested it and you can't run 2 star conflicts at the same time in the same computer. I tried with steam and the lanucher and it says that you can't run another copy of star conflict.

Running them on the same client device is against the EULA so I won't explain how to do it. Steam will never let you start two instances of the same app though.

2.2 Multiple Environment Product; Multiple Language Product; Dual Media Product; Multiple Copies; Bundles. If you use different versions of the Product or different language editions of the Product, if you receive the Product on multiple media, if you otherwise receive multiple copies of the Product, or if you received the Product bundled with other software, the total permitted number of your Client Devices on which all versions of the Product are installed shall correspond to the number of licenses you have obtained from the Gaijin provided that unless the licensing terms provide otherwise, each purchased license entitles you to install and Use the Product on one (1) Client Device. Unless provided otherwise in this Agreement, you may not rent, bundle with other products or materials, lease, sublicense, lend or transfer any versions or copies of the Product regardless of whether you use the Product or not without Gaijin’s written consent.

Emphasis added.

You "technically" need more than one computer.  But I saw it stated on the Russian forums in non legalese terms that multiple accounts is permitted.  The license fails to address is the use a multiple clients simultaneously.  Since it's not addressed, it's irrelevant.
