  1. In short, because who likes to read such long posts, so: 1. Take a fast ship (Tai'Kin is the best) and take enhaced scanner (because you only see asteroids with your own radar) 2. Take a NON-explosive weapon with: a) rate of fire 60-80 (best is ~70) and take some shared cooler (you need over 20s to weapon overheat) or b) higher rof can be even 600 and don't worry about overheating your weapons 3. Undock to any sector (I prefer these): 4. Wait a few minutes to the asteroids to appear 5. When asteroid appear approach it to a distance of 500-1000m

  2. So, let me get this straight: Since roughly the inception of the asteroid mining mechanic, players have asked that drones not randomly shoot at asteroids automatically. And they were completely ignored, until the moment that behavior became advantageous to players. Is that about the long and short of it?

  3. Well, today was Mole day for me. What a let down. I'm just going to run through the key points, negatives and positives (that I can see) and some serious balance talk. First impression Mole is yet another Federation ship with an identity crisis.   4. Yesterday there were so many asteroids it was hard to decipher them from the enemies while doing my os missions. Today I was on a lot of os maps and I did not see a single asteroid. What is even weirder is I did not see a single player as well. I have v set to toggle and all the enemies show up just fine. Spatial scanner is not showing any roids either. 1500 is a lot of parts for something to mine that's non existent. Not sure why the asteroids were deleted or greatly reduced. I can only assume to make the emission a lot harder. I wanted to destroy one and see how many parts it dro

  5. Well. Mole is a right step towards, maybe, a more complex Open Space and Economy... But... It lacks the soul of a mining ship. The ship 3D design is well made, but it DESERVES better modules focused on mining. It's a mining ship, after all. Maybe a minion drone, like already suggested here in the forum... Some ideas: Make a module to scavenge hulls: know that pirate ship that you kindly exploded? Well, the hulls could have some purpose another than a chunk of black steel, it could be converted to basic materials. It would be great to have something like "Scavenger Drones" active module.

I got the Mole via parts last night and all I have to say is this: https://streamable.com/ptiu0u The Mole is a mining ship, built for mining, with a mining laser, also meant for mining. However, the laser is hands-down one of the worst weapons that you can mine with. To make this suggestion simple: The mining laser "Emitter ML" should GUARANTEE a perfect extraction every time on every asteroid. That's what it's designed for.   7. Just 2 thoughts about what I think needs to be fixed: 1. There is a pretty big number of maps where it's very hard to see the beacon, because.... it's dark, it's black The background is also dark, like space, or dark-brown rocks, buildings and so on. So, sometimes you can warp 10-12km to the next one that activates....except you loose 10-20 seconds to look for it!! How about changing the colours of beacons, no matter if they are active or not? Or they could have 2 colours, one for the active beacon and another colour for the inactive ones. Or 3 colours, bu

  8. Question is can Dessies be counted as "normal ships" as well? If yes they still beat the Mole in pickup range that is 900m so even aditional 150m more then the Mole but then again a dessy requires a lot of farming for Astros as well so i would assume now that in the time you have the Mole parts you have also enough parts to build at least 1 Rank 8 Dessy. Again if we would put Dessies into the "normal ships" area as well they come already with 12 Slots so they are just 2 slots off in this situation. For OS if you go only for Astros a cargo of at least 8 is the absolute minimum fo

  10. Pretty much yeah. I imagine someone got wind that attach drones were being used to mine effectively and they patched it to keep people from abusing the mechanic that they implemented. One plus-side was mentioned above though: combat drones around engineers will no longer attack asteroids randomly. I and many others are still mad about it though. ============================== Also when I got the mole, I was VERY disappointed by the mining laser. Like rage quit on stream disappointed.   11. i go mining with the mole when my stupid annoiying drones shoot asteroids its 1 of the most annoiying thing ever happening... so i destroy them with pushing F... but still its really dumb that its not removed because in that free space what is like a mmo thing.. its that drones around a healer ship arent suppose to attack those asteroids out of themselves since those arent enemy ships... so yeah i like the devs to remove that stupid annoiying attack on asteroids....   13. First of all, I am glad to see new, more specialized ships getting introduced to the game, especially when they are customizable. With the Destroyers, the secret project ships and the two original "unique" ships, the Endeavour and the Spiral, being my favourite ships in terms of customizability and the alien ships being my favourites in terms of progression and unique customizations I was really hoping to see the Mole ship follow suit of either one of these types of ships with module refitting, experience level bonus choices and perhaps even some unique models based on special modules.   15. Since mining has gotten a revamp, I feel like loot itself could use a bit of help. Particularly with the mole license. Since there's so much loot around dropping from everything, there should really be a toggle in settings or something that automatically "interacts" with nearby loot. This of course should not work for items that were dropped from the cargo bay manually, or warp gates.

Brute force mining is no longer possible Individual ores take much longer to mine compared to the previous system This system is extremely hostile to colour blind players There is no indiciator regarding heating at all So what has happened instead?   18. Because I've always been curious how fast that can be done, I'm planning to run a wing made of recons only. So, just the following are allowed, obviously, because of the 35% speed capture : 1. Cyning 2. Marten 3. Berseker 4. Jarl 5. Viking 6. Spectre Falcon Regarding the guns and missiles, fit whatever you think can be improved more with chips, to deal as much damage as possible.
