Try to keep your 3 slots within 3 ranks of each other. Better if they are all the same rank in my opinion. Your rank 9 is within 3 ranks of that rank 11. In PvP you can expect to see ships within 3 ranks of your highest ship. And yes, this is better than in the past when you would PvP with a new T4 Rank 10 and face 15s!

MM considers you as high as the highest rank of your ships equipped, so in your case you are rank 9 (Because kite) and not rank 6.

From what I’ve seen MM can put you in a game 5 ranks higher than your highest ship equipped (and yes - it means that if player was really good with ranks 1-3, his brand new white R4 can meet destroyers and R9 purple ships).
Everytime I see the name of the thread, I think of pesky interceptors buzzing around like bugs.
