I just had a quick question on what the ranks for games are now, I’ve been trying to get a game with my friend who plays T4 PvP aswell and the only thing that separates us is ship rank, I flew R10-12 before Brokk now I have it so its 10-13 but I don’t get a game with him. Even without it slotted. He always gets a game without me even waiting 3/4 minutes I still don’t join his. And we have near the same pilot rating. +/- 100/200. This game doesn’t have enough players to restrict based on pilot rating. What’s going on.
The current matchmaker is not working very well for quite some time now, new one should be deployed soon, hope it works.
When a pilot enters a PvP queue, there is a line loged into a game.log that looks like this:
09:17:24.947 | { 09:17:24.947 | "arcade": 1.000 09:17:24.947 | "region": 0.000 09:17:24.947 | } 09:17:25.420 | MasterServerEndpoint: enter matchmaking queue with mmRank 15, mmValue 50 and maxDestrRank 0
and this is logged every time you enter a queue.
mmRank 15 - this is the Queue Rank (equal to a maximum rank of your ships in a hangar)
mmValue 50 - your estimated power
maxDestrRank 0 - rank of a Destroyer in a hanger (used to be used for separating matches, currently not in use)
mmValue is calculated by some formula that takes into account various statistics of your profile, and that value is what directly used to “Balance” games

That is interesting. I got mmValue up to ~60 and as low as 0 but none of it makes sense to me

The higher this value is, the worse your teammates will be and harder you have to carry. This value is probably logarithmic and does not have a true hard cap. Well, you can refer to that as Ace as I am I have 50 MM weight ”)

The value should vary by queue rank since it supposed to calculate individually based on your performance in ranks (at-least that is how it supposed to work).
As well this value will vary on your latest performance like if you had a pretty bad day it should be dropping.

well it jumps 50 to 70 for me (0 is probably a custom battle)

First two - R15 PvP queue, then R8 PvE queue, then 2xR8 PvP queue, then 2xR11 Co-op queue etc etc
