Sometimes it’s annoying, sometimes not. I’m fairly sure someone made a bug report about it as soon as MM was put into join-in-progress mode and they said that it’s working as intended.
And it was “optimised”, personally after optimisation that stutter spike was gone from my machine and I have not experienced it since, but I do play on SSD. After optimisation was done, the issue was closed and since there is no open issue, nobody even considers if there is a need for more work put into this.
