First thing’s first - thank you so much for the timeline.
I wish you guys and girls would do this more often and if a piece of content is delayed then just mention it in an edit. It makes a huge difference in communication and helps build trust between the players and the developers.
Alright - that out of the way; as per usual I’ll be doing a note form summary with a brief overview of what each one means for those who cannot see the Combat Alert (this has happened in the past) and for those who just want to scroll.
- December 9th, 2021 - Guardians of the Universe
The three rank 8 DLC ships will become available for purchase again, unfortunately nobody cares about Langsax or Veils - only Jellyfish is good… in PvP.
- December 16th, 2021 - Mysteries of the Universe - First Stage
The first stage of the battlepass for the “Albireo” Destroyer. It should contain 3 of the 4 required components and cost $10 USD/$15 AUD if it’s like the others.
- December 16th, 2021 - “Brain Drain” PvE
A new PvE mission which if the skeleton we’ve seen in the map files is correct, will take place in Artuga and feature the pirates.
- December 16th, 2021 - Cyber Santa’s bundle
…it’s a bundle and says it has credit and synergy bonuses. Yep.
- December 16th, 2021 - Klauss Inc.
Last year these were basic weapons given a heavy destroyer damage bonus. In previous years these were previews of upcoming weapons (such as Scattergun, Mass Driver, Gravibeamer)
- December 20th, 2021 - Polar Bear and Polar Bear Deluxe
Polar Bear returns again. It is a Rank 11 Guard Frigate which you can check out in your atlas right now if you want the stats. It is fairly pricey and honestly not worth the money.
(It was $45 AUD last time)
- December 27th, 2021 - Thor and Thor Deluxe
A new Imperial “ship” - based on name it is likely a fighter so we can only cross our fingers this is the mythical Rank 17 Fighter finally.
- January 3rd, 2022 - Marathon of Tasks
Last year this was a various set of tasks with premium licenses, seed chips and the Mk3 Plasma gun as a reward. It’s not really possible to tell what will be the reward this time.
- January 28th, 2022 - Mysteries of the Universe, Second Stage
The 'Albireo" Destroyer will become manufacturable with this update thanks to the final part being within the first 15 stages (Deluxe pass).
- February 3rd, 2022 - Albireo and Albireo Deluxe
For those who opt for the DLC or joined late.
Overall, I would highly advise taking part in the Mysteries of the Universe pass - this Destroyer is a big one in more ways than one. Like really. Do it.
